Mount Girnar in February
Gujarat, India
Go — peak climbing window + Bhavnath fair Feb 12-16 makes Feb 2026 a double anchor.
Peak crowds
February is one of Mount Girnar's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Jain pilgrimage site peak Nov–Feb during winter holidays and cooler climbing season; summer heat prevents foot traffic.
February is Girnar's second-best climbing month plus the rare Bhavnath Mahadev Naga sadhu fair (around Maha Shivratri Feb 14 2026). The fair brings ascetics to the foothills for 5 days, with night-time torch processions up the mountain — a regional photographic spectacle few outside Saurashtra know.
The February story
The Bhavnath Mahadev Fair is one of Saurashtra's least-photographed cultural events — Naga ascetics camp at the Girnar foothills around Maha Shivratri (Feb 14 2026) for 5 days. Their midnight torch processions up Mount Girnar against the dark mountain silhouette are the photographic anchor. Climbers in February can choose: book the Feb 12-16 fair window for the ascetic spectacle, or aim for non-fair dates for solitude. 14-29C dry conditions deliver clean summit views, and the Neminath Jain Temple cluster + Datta peak are both at peak access. By month-end pre-summer heat starts the compression that March makes worse.
