The Budher Forest Camp opens properly this month, and you can string a hammock between deodars without a care. Deoban meadow is carpeted with wildflowers, and the panoramic view of the Greater Himalaya from the summit has the kind of clarity that makes you count peaks. Lakhamandal, the ancient Shiva temple 60 km away with Mahabharata connections, makes a rewarding half-day trip. Homestays charge ₹1,200-2,500/night and most now serve home-cooked Garhwali meals. April here feels like May in a hill station that charges three times more.
