July is peak monsoon. Chakrata receives 400-500mm, the heaviest month. Landslides occasionally block the Dehradun road for hours. Cloud cover is near-constant, temperatures hover at 16-22°C, and the forest floor becomes a carpet of ferns and mushrooms. This is not a casual visit month.
