Best viewed from a boat on the Ganga (₹150-300 per person shared). Crowded — arrive 45 min early for a land spot.

Assi Ghat

At the confluence of the Assi stream with the Ganga. Less intense than Dashashwamedh. Subah-e-Banaras program runs 5 AM daily — Vedic chanting, yoga, morning aarti. Food carts, cafes, student hangouts at the top of the steps (Banaras Hindu University is 2 km away).

Ramnagar Fort

Built 1750 by Raja Balwant Singh. Still home to the current Maharaja (partial residence). Saraswati Bhawan museum has vintage cars, royal palanquins, astronomical clock, American cars, and armoury. Dilapidated in parts but atmospheric. Reach via boat from Assi Ghat or bridge (14km drive).

Shiva's earring (mani-karnika) legend. Avoid 'guided tours' that promise rooftop views for payment — usually scams.
