Why Special
Nandaprayag is where the Alaknanda and Nandakini rivers meet at 1,358m, making it the second of the five prayags (in downstream order). A temple dedicated to Goddess Nanda stands at the confluence. The town is small and roadside, accessed via the Badrinath highway. Most pilgrims combine visits to multiple prayags in a single road circuit (70–256 km from Rishikesh depending on the prayag).
