Triyuginarayan Temple.
Most Char Dham yatris pass through Guptkashi on the Kedarnath route and never make the 25km detour to a temple their travel agent didn't list.WHY NOBODY KNOWS
A small Vishnu temple in a village above Sonprayag where local tradition places the wedding of Shiva and Parvati. An 'akhand dhuni' — a fire pit in front of the temple — has been kept burning continuously for what locals say is three yugas (the temple's name). Couples now circle this fire for their pheras; it's quietly become Garhwal's wedding spot, but for a 5am visit you'll often have it to yourself. Best: Apr-Jun and Sep-Nov. Closed access during heavy monsoon. May-Jun is peak wedding season — go off-shoulder for solitude.. Reach: 25km from Guptkashi via Sonprayag. Last 5km is a steep climb to Triyuginarayan village; cars manage but slowly. Buses irregular — taxi from Guptkashi (~Rs 1500-2000 round-trip).. Tip: Free entry. The akhand dhuni is in the courtyard — you can collect ash as prashad. If interested in the wedding ritual, the temple committee runs a basic booking system at modest cost. Combine with Gauri Kund (where Parvati is said to have done penance) on the Kedarnath road, 5km away..
