Why Special
Karnaprayag sits where the Alaknanda meets the Pindar River at about 1,050m. The site is named after Karna, the tragic hero of the Mahabharata. A temple stands at the confluence ghat. The town straddles the main highway to Auli and the inner Garhwal, making it a natural stop on multi-prayag circuits. The confluence is less crowded than Devprayag (the lowest and most accessible prayag).
