Little Andaman in July is the trip impossible. Rainfall on the island hits 540-600mm, the directorate of shipping ferry from Phoenix Bay to Hut Bay runs only 1-2 sailings across the full month, and Andaman Sea swell on the 100km southbound crossing averages 3-4 metres. Surf at Butler Bay is stormwater-sized and dangerous. White Surf and Whisper Wave waterfall trails are impassable - the ground is saturated mud and the rope-assist sections are washed out. Hut Bay operates on backup generators with 8-hour daily power cuts. Mobile network beyond Hut Bay is non-existent and BSNL signal in town is patchy. Medical evacuation logistics in July make the trip risky on every front.
