Peak crowds
February is one of Lenyadri's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Peak Oct–Feb for Ganesha pilgrimage season and cooler weather; monsoon Jun–Aug is off-season.
February at Lenyadri makes Maghi Ganesh Jayanti a peak event at the only cave-temple Ashtavinayak. The festival — Magh Shukla Chaturthi — falls Wednesday 4 February 2026. The Girijatmaj murti inside Buddhist Cave 7 of 30 (Hinayana Manmodi-Junnar group, 2nd century BCE) receives the pre-dawn maha-abhishek ritual at 4am — pilgrims start climbing the 307 steps from 3am to make the 4am slot. The only north-facing Ashtavinayak attracts dedicated yatra-pilgrims who specifically time their visit for this configuration. Angarki Chaturthi falls Tuesday 3 February 2026 compounding pilgrim density. Daytime 16-30C — the 307-step climb workable through the day; afternoon climbs slightly warmer. The ASI-protected cave-group landscape sits clean. Combine with Ozar 10km in the same morning. Lodgings at Junnar ₹800-2,200 festival rates; some pilgrims base at Pune (95km) and day-trip. Book 2 weeks ahead.
