Kashid in February
Maharashtra, India
Go February — peak Kashid, white-sand at its cleanest, Valentine's weekend books out.
Peak crowds
February is one of Kashid's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Weekends from Mumbai are packed. Weekdays nearly empty.
February maintains January's peak Kashid conditions. Temperatures hold 19-32°C, the Arabian Sea stays calm, the 3km white-sand strip is at its visual best, and weekday calm contrasts with Mumbai-Pune weekend density. Water-sports infrastructure runs full hours (banana boat ₹300, jet ski ₹500-1500, parasailing ₹800-1500), and Phansad WLS 12km inland offers half-day jeep safaris (₹2500-4000) for leopard tracks and bison. Korlai Portuguese Fort 8km south is a quieter alternative for a half-day. Valentine's Day weekend (Feb 14) pushes stays to weekend-peak rates.
The February story
Drive 135km from Mumbai via NH-66 + SH-97 — 3.5-4 hours, or M2M ro-ro to Mandwa + 50km south. From Pune 170km via Tamhini-Mulshi-Roha — 4-5 hours. Beach activities 7am-6pm: water-sports as above. Stays: Kashid Beach Resort ₹3500-7000/night (weekend), Hotel Sea Shell ₹2500-5000/night, private homestays ₹2000-4000/night. Eat: Hotel Sai Pawan, Kashid Beach Resort restaurant — Malvani fish thali ₹350-550, sol kadhi mandatory. Day-trips: Korlai Fort 8km south (₹15 entry), Phansad WLS 12km inland (₹50 entry, jeep ₹2500-4000), Murud-Janjira 30km south for the Siddi fort (Rajapuri boat ₹50-100 + ASI ₹15). Book stays 1-2 weeks ahead for Valentine's weekend Feb 14-15. Avoid Sunday-afternoon Mandwa ferry — return morning.
