Astavinayak Circuit in February
Maharashtra, India
Peak crowds
February is one of Astavinayak Circuit's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Pilgrimage traffic rises Oct–Feb when weather is cooler; summer heat and monsoon reduce visits.
February is the secondary yatra peak. Maghi Ganesh Jayanti (Magh Shukla Chaturthi) falls Wednesday 4 February 2026 — the second-most-important Ashtavinayak observance of the year after Bhadrapada Ganesh Chaturthi. Morgaon and Theur run special pre-dawn abhishek rituals from 4am; all eight temples extend evening palki processions. Pre-festival pilgrim flow builds from late January and peaks Feb 3-5; the Tuesday before (Feb 3, also Angarki Chaturthi 2026) compounds the density. MTDC books out two weeks ahead through the festival window. Daytime 16-30C, nights 11-13C — among the most workable circuit weather of the year. Two-night/three-day operator packages run ₹4,000-6,000 with the festival surcharge. By mid-February the festival residue settles and the circuit returns to standard tempo through month-end. Best window for first-time pilgrims who want festival density without the September overload.
