Diglipur in February
Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India
Go in February — peak dry season with active turtle nesting and the Ross-Smith sandbar fully visible, though heat and humidity remain moderate at sea level.
Peak crowds
February is one of Diglipur's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Island trekking and turtle-watching peak Nov–Mar in dry season; monsoon Jun–Sep brings cyclone risk and heavy rainfall.
Diglipur in February is the cleanest month at the Andamans' northernmost outpost. Rainfall under 20mm for the month, sea state calm, air 22-29C and dropping below 20C some nights. Olive ridley nesting tails off in the first fortnight - the last 100-200 nests laid before the season ends. Saddle Peak (732m, 5km from the trailhead) is trafficable in shorts and approach shoes; Forest Department permits cost 250 rupees, register at Diglipur ranger office. Ross & Smith dinghy crossings from Aerial Bay run nearly every morning - the sandbar between the two islands fully exposes at low tide for around 2 hours, 9-11am. No mobile network, no ATMs that work; carry 15,000 rupees cash.
