North Bay Island in February
Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India
Go in February—peak season delivers the clearest water of the year for snorkeling and sea walking, with calm seas and perfect visibility.
Peak crowds
February is one of North Bay Island's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Andaman water-sports island busiest Oct–May during calm seas and clear skies; Jun–Sep monsoon/cyclone season sees fewest divers and snorkelers.
February at North Bay is the operational peak of the year. Rainfall sits at 12-18mm for the entire month, the Bay of Bengal is at its calmest, and underwater visibility consistently delivers 28-30m at the reef. Sea-walk experience is at its best - sediment stays settled, helmet windows are clear, you can see fish 8-10m off in any direction. Air 25-30C, water 27-29C. Glass-bottom boats run continuously 8am-2pm; sea-walk slots run two an hour from 8:30am, beginner scuba on demand. From February 15 onward the school-holiday crowd thins and queues at the operator counter at Phoenix Bay drop from 30 minutes to 5. The 20-minute crossing is unaffected by anything except weather, and weather is at its least disruptive.
