Diglipur in March
Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India
Go in March—Saddle Peak trek is in peak condition, sea temperatures are warm, and turtle nesting season offers wildlife encounters without monsoon delays.
Peak crowds
March is one of Diglipur's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Island trekking and turtle-watching peak Nov–Mar in dry season; monsoon Jun–Sep brings cyclone risk and heavy rainfall.
Diglipur in March is the quiet end of peak season. Daytime climbs to 25-31C, humidity 76 percent and rising. Saddle Peak trail is still walkable but the heat moves the start time earlier - in the field by 5:30am, off the summit by 10am. The trail itself is dry but the third hour through evergreen forest gets airless. Ross & Smith dinghy crossings still run every clear morning. The 8-10 hour ferry from Port Blair (operates 2-3 times a week, government-only, around 1,200 rupees in deck class) maintains its winter schedule. Road access by NH-223 (290km, 8-9 hours) is reliable. Homestays drop 25 percent. No mobile beyond the township.
