Baratang in February is the cleanest version of the day-trip. The ATR convoy runs all three slots reliably. Tour operators in Port Blair sell the full day-trip package - jeep, ferry, boat, mud volcano, lunch, return - for 1,800-2,500 rupees per head with 3-4 day advance bookings required. The Jarawa Reserve rules are absolute: no photography of tribal members, no stopping, no rolling down windows. Forest checkpoint staff are strict; ignoring rules can mean immediate convoy expulsion.
