Agatti Island in April
Lakshadweep, India
Go if you want warm lagoon snorkeling without monsoon risk — April is calm and clear, though heat peaks above 30°C daily.
April in Agatti is operationally clean but physically warmer. Air 28-33C, water 28-29C, humidity at 80 percent — the kind of warmth that pushes you off the white sand by 11am and back into the lagoon. Alliance Air still runs both weekly slots through April. The Agatti Island Beach Resort and the SPORTS huts both publish off-peak rates 30-35 percent below January; air-conditioning becomes non-negotiable here, factor it into the room budget. Power cuts get more frequent pre-monsoon — 2-3 hour daytime outages aren't unusual, and budget huts without inverters go dark. The reef wall dive at 18m holds 25-28m visibility; the Boulder Point shallow site is clearer. The 30-minute speedboat to Bangaram still runs daily but afternoon legs sometimes get cancelled if the wind picks up. Carry electrolyte sachets — the village shop near the jetty stocks ORS but not the rehydration mix divers need.
