Roads remain waterlogged from monsoon recovery efforts
September in Aalo is the slow recovery from July-August battering. Monthly rainfall drops to 350-450mm with most of it falling in the first ten days. By the third week, the Likabali-Aalo NH-13 stabilises and Pasighat flights run their full schedule. Daytime 24-29C, nights 17-20C, humidity easing toward 80 percent. The Aalo-Mechuka road becomes reliable again from around September 20. Rivers (Yomgo, Siang) start dropping but remain too silty for rafting — that recovery comes in November. The Galo villages around Aalo (Hege, Karbak, Bagra) are deep in autumn rice-harvest, which is its own visual reward but means homestays are reduced-capacity through harvest week. The Donyi Hango Hotel and Aalo Circuit House return to full hours. Workable for travelers with a flexible itinerary; not as clean as October.
