February is one of Rangat's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Peak Nov–Feb for dry weather and island tourism; monsoon and cyclone season (Jun–Sep) severely limits water access.
Rangat in February is the cleanest version of the Middle Andaman stopover. Rainfall under 20mm for the month, the Andaman Trunk Road convoy from Jirkatang runs all three daily slots through the Jarawa Tribal Reserve, and Cuthbert Bay olive ridley nesting wraps in the first fortnight - the last 200-300 nests of the season laid before the females depart. Air 23-30C, humidity 73 percent. Amkunj Beach mangrove boardwalk (1km eco-trail) is dry-foot. Dhani Nallah waterfall walk is a 20-minute forest path. The Forest Lodge and 2-3 small hotels at Rangat town run at 1,200-1,800 rupees per night. The Jarawa Reserve rules on the convoy are absolute: no photography, no stops, no rolling windows. BSNL signal patchy.
