Rangat in January is the Middle Andaman district headquarters at full operations. Cuthbert Bay olive ridley nesting is at the December-February peak; Forest Department patrols at 7-9pm guide visitors with strict no-flash rules. Amkunj Beach mangrove boardwalk (1km, eco-tourism trail) is dry-foot through the month. Dhani Nallah waterfall is a 20-minute forest walk for a small swim. Most travelers use Rangat as the overnight stop on the Port Blair-Diglipur road haul. BSNL signal patchy. No working ATM.
