The August story
August is July with slightly less fury. The sangam still runs brown but occasionally, after a dry spell of 2-3 days, the Bhagirathi clears enough to show a faint colour difference. These moments of partial clarity are fleeting and beautiful — like the sangam remembering its winter self. The ghats may be partially accessible depending on water levels. The town's dharamshalas serve basic but wholesome pilgrim food.
