Chidiya Tapu in March
Andaman & Nicobar Islands, India
Go in March — peak season with clear skies, comfortable trekking temperatures, and active bird populations make it ideal for nature walks.
Peak crowds
March is one of Chidiya Tapu's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Busiest Oct–May during dry season; monsoon and cyclone months Jun–Sep see fewest visitors.
March at Chidiya Tapu is when peak conditions soften slightly and travel costs ease. Daytime climbs to 26-32C with humidity creeping toward 76 percent by month-end. Migrants have largely left, but the resident list - Andaman serpent eagle, racket-tailed drongo, the woodpeckers - is still strong. The road from Port Blair (about 25km, NH-223 South) is in dry-season condition; cycling it as a day-ride is genuinely feasible for fit travelers leaving Aberdeen Bazaar by 6am. The Biological Park sees lighter traffic; entry 50 rupees, kids under five free. Sunset point heat off the rocks is real - bring water, a hat, and budget 30 minutes pre-sunset for the spot you want. Last bus back at 6:30pm still applies.
