Bangaram Island in February
Lakshadweep, India
Go in February—peak season guarantees crystal lagoon visibility, calm seas for diving, and active turtle nesting, though expect resort-only access and high prices.
Peak crowds
February is one of Bangaram Island's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Resort island busiest Nov–Mar during school holidays and cool season; monsoon swells make sea access risky Jun–Sep.
February in Bangaram is the year's most photogenic stretch. Rainfall under 8mm, daytime 24-30C, the lagoon mirror-flat from 6am to noon. Manta-ray sightings at the eponymous Manta Point (12-18m depth, 25-minute boat from the resort jetty) are at their seasonal peak — December through March is prime, but February delivers the most consistent encounters. Bangaram Island Resort runs at full capacity from Valentine's through end-month; bookings need to be in 60 days ahead. The 30-minute speedboat from Agatti runs to a fixed twice-daily schedule (10:30am inbound, 4:30pm outbound). The resort's dive centre is fully staffed — book the open-water course, drift dive, or night dive at check-in. The only alcohol pour in the chain stays here; guests who plan day-trips back to Agatti or onward to Kavaratti need to dry up before the boat. Permit must be the same Lakshadweep Tourism document used for Agatti entry.
