Bangaram Island in July
Lakshadweep, India
July on Bangaram is monsoon at its fullest. Bangaram Island Resort has been closed since May 15 and remains shut until late September. Rainfall sits at 380-450mm across 26-28 wet days, sustained 35-knot winds churn the lagoon, and even Coast Guard supply boats reach the cluster on a thin schedule. Lakshadweep Tourism issues no tourist permits for July arrivals to any island. The dive school, the bar, the speedboat operator — every commercial element of the Bangaram visitor experience — is offline. The island reverts to its uninhabited baseline; the only humans on it are occasional Coast Guard patrols and resort caretaking staff weather-permitting. The first viable arrival window is the resort's September re-opening, typically September 25-30, contingent on the monsoon retreating on schedule. Submit the October-onward Lakshadweep Tourism permit application now if locking dates from July.
