Astavinayak Circuit in April
Maharashtra, India
April pushes the Ashtavinayak yatra into heat-management territory. Daytime 26-39C across the Pune plateau; the Konkan side (Pali, Mahad) hits 32-36C with 70 percent humidity. The Pune-cluster temples (Morgaon, Theur, Ranjangaon, Ozar) remain workable as pre-9am and post-4pm darshans, but the in-between hours collapse — pradakshina pavements hit 50C surface temperatures by noon. Lenyadri 307-step climb impossible past 7am at 38C; only the half-loop (skip Lenyadri) circuit runs cleanly. Konkan ferry to Pali-Mahad route via Bhau-cha-Dhakka remains operational but the Konkan-side overnight halts struggle without AC. MTDC packages drop to ₹3,000-4,500 with the off-season cut; pilgrim arrivals thin sharply. Bhima river at lowest flow — Siddhatek boat crossing trivial but the island temple courtyard holds heat through evening. The yatra runs but at compressed pace.
