Aritar is a quiet East-Sikkim village on the old Silk Route, best known for Lampokhari (Aritar Lake), one of Sikkim's oldest natural lakes, now fitted with paddle boats and a lakeside promenade. The ridges around it are used for paragliding, and the historic Aritar Gumpa monastery sits nearby.
