# Best Time to Visit Punjab

Punjab is flat, hot in summer, and foggy in December-January. The window is narrower than you think. But when it is right, it is the most generous, welcoming, and food-rich state in India.

The Verdict

October-November: 5/5 — Post-monsoon, pre-fog. Warm days (25-30°C), cool nights. Diwali celebrations. Golden Temple at its most atmospheric. Wagah border comfortable.

February-March: 5/5 — Spring. Hola Mohalla at Anandpur Sahib (March) — the Sikh martial arts festival. Mustard fields blooming. Perfect weather.

April: 3/5 — Warming (30-35°C). Baisakhi festival (April 13-14) — harvest celebration. Still manageable.

May-September: 1/5 — Extreme heat (40-48°C in May-June). Monsoon July-September (humid, flooding). Avoid.

December-January: 2/5 — Dense fog (flights cancelled, highways dangerous). Cold (2-10°C). Lohri (January) is worth it if you are already there, but not worth traveling for.

Key Destinations

Amritsar: October-March. Anandpur Sahib: February-March (Hola Mohalla). Chandigarh: October-March.
