June perfects Doodhpathri. Temperatures: 12-24°C. The wildflower meadows reach peak bloom, the milky streams are at ideal volume (not too low, not flooded), and the Gujjar shepherds arrive with their flocks, adding pastoral life to the landscape. Pre-monsoon clouds build dramatic skies.

Doodhpathri shuts at sunset — Lazeez closes around 8pm and there's no dinner service in the meadow. Order before 6pm if you've miscalculated the drive back to Srinagar.

Bakarkhani is delivered from Charari-Sharief by 11am — order one with kahwa before 2pm, after which the morning batch is gone. Cash preferred.
