Carnival weekend (variable date, three days before Ash Wednesday) draws Panaji float-parade traffic across the Mandovi bridges to and from Old Goa, congesting NH-66 from Saturday afternoon to Tuesday morning. Otherwise the complex sits at 30-40 percent of December peak — guides at the Basilica steps charge ₹300 for a 45-minute tour, ₹500 for a full hour with the museum.
