Good Time
Delhi in March
Delhi, India
March brings Delhi its best weather: 14-30°C, clear skies, and the city's trees — amaltas, flame of the forest, jacaranda — beginning their bloom sequence that will peak in April. Holi (usually March) turns the entire city into a colour battlefield.
The March story
Holi in Delhi is unavoidable and glorious. Every neighbourhood celebrates differently: Old Delhi goes hard with traditional gulal and bhang lassi, South Delhi hosts curated Holi brunches, and the Widows' Holi at Vrindavan (3 hours away) has become a powerful cultural event. Beyond Holi, March Delhi is about outdoor exploration at its peak: Mehrauli Archaeological Park (100+ monuments in one park, free, no crowds), the Agrasen ki Baoli stepwell, and the Hauz Khas complex. The Jama Masjid's rooftop view of Old Delhi is comfortable now without winter wind or summer heat. Food: mango season starts late March. Rooms: ₹2,000-12,000/night.
