The limestone cave is flooded, the mud volcano road is broken at 2 spots, and Port Blair operators refuse Baratang bookings. The Forest Department is not running ATR convoys reliably for tourism use - the convoy itself runs for resident traffic but with frequent same-day cancellations. There is a small subset of bird-photography travelers who go monsoon Baratang on charter, but for the standard caves-and-mud-volcano day-trip, the month does not work.
