Statue of Unity in January
Gujarat, India
Go — peak SoU weather and full attraction programme.
Peak crowds
January is one of Statue of Unity's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Modern landmark sees heavy tourism Oct–Feb during pleasant weather; summer heat May–Jun is slowest.
January at Statue of Unity sits at year-peak — 10-26°C cold mornings, the Narmada Valley clear of monsoon haze, and the 153m viewing gallery offering 360° panorama at year-best clarity. The 182m bronze-clad statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (the world's tallest, 2018-completed, twice Liberty's height) photographs in soft winter light.
The January story
Plan two days. Day 1 Statue of Unity (closed Mondays) — viewing gallery 153m, Valley of Flowers walk, Sardar Sarovar Dam viewpoint, Glow Garden evening laser show. Day 2 — Jungle Safari (₹200/person, 9am-5pm), Cactus Garden (450+ varieties), Butterfly Park (4 hectares, 38+ species), Ekta Nursery, Sardar Patel Museum. Tickets via official soutickets.in only. Tent City 1 or Tent City 2 (Narmada Tent City) for the stay — government-operated luxury tents with all-meal packages (regular veg + Jain veg). Republic Day Jan 26 sees special evening shows and the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas-style flag ceremonies. Day-trip option from Vadodara (90km, 2 hrs) or Ahmedabad (190km, 4 hrs). January is the first-time-SoU peak month.

| July | 6.0/10 | Monsoon — Narmada in full flow |
