Marine archaeological excavations off the coast have found structures 9,000+ years old — Dwarka's claim as one of the oldest cities ever discovered runs alongside the Krishna legend. Avoid Janmashtami (Aug 23 2026) crowds entirely; January is the opposite end of the calendar.
