Statue of Unity in May
Gujarat, India
Skip — 44°C peak heat. Use Nov-Feb.
May is Statue of Unity at its worst — 30-44°C dry-burn, the Narmada Valley at its hottest, and the open-plaza approach to the 182m statue genuinely dangerous for non-acclimatised visitors. Tourism near-dormant.
The May story
If you must visit Statue of Unity in May, do a Tent City overnight stay with pre-9am viewing-gallery visit and afternoon pool time. Tent City 1 and Narmada Tent City pool decks the most comfortable May outdoors. The viewing gallery (closed Mondays) at 9am open. Jungle Safari severely reduced — animals retreat to water sources. Cactus Garden the rare May-friendly attraction (cacti love heat). River cruise AC cabin available. Glow Garden evening show pleasant once the sun drops. Hotel rates 40 percent off. Day-trip from Vadodara unworkable. The full SoU experience belongs to November-February.

All 12 Months
| Month | Score | Note |
|---|---|---|
| January | 10.0/10 | January at Statue of Unity: 10-26°C, clear Narmada Valley views from the 153m gallery. Dry enough for the Valley of Flowers walk; jungle safari park open daily. |
| February | 8.0/10 | February at Statue of Unity: 14-30°C, dry Narmada valley views and clear viewing gallery visibility. Solid window before April heat erodes outdoor comfort. |
| March | 6.0/10 | March at Statue of Unity: 20-36C. Narmada valley views still fine; viewing gallery is AC but queues and approach plaza get hot fast. |
| April | 4.0/10 | Hot |
| Mayviewing | 2.0/10 | Extreme heat |
| June | 4.0/10 | Pre-monsoon |
| July | 6.0/10 | Monsoon — Narmada in full flow |
| August | 6.0/10 | August at Statue of Unity: 25–31°C, Narmada valley monsoon. Viewing gallery on but visibility low — shoulder, dam views stronger than skyline. |
| September | 6.0/10 | September at Statue of Unity: 23-32C. Narmada full and scenic; viewing gallery fine, but open plaza and boat rides can get rained off. |
| October | 8.0/10 | October at Statue of Unity: 22–34°C, Narmada valley green post-monsoon, viewing gallery clear. Shoulder — busier than low season, quieter than Nov–Feb peak. |
| November | 10.0/10 | November at Statue of Unity: 18–32°C over the Narmada Valley. Clear skies make the 182m viewing gallery panorama at its sharpest. |
| December | 10.0/10 | December at Statue of Unity: 12–28°C over the Narmada Valley. Clear winter skies make the 182m viewing gallery panorama at its sharpest. |
