Saputara in February
Gujarat, India
Go — dry calm window before March warms.
February at Saputara is the dry calm month — 12-26°C, Western Ghats views clear, the Dang tribal villages relaxed in pre-summer routine. Pleasant for the Hatgad-Artist Village-Sunset Point loop, though Gira Waterfalls is a trickle this season.
The February story
Plan two days. Day 1 Saputara Lake walk, Step Garden, Lake Garden, Sunset Point at Gandhi Shikhar. Day 2 Hatgad Fort 5km climb + Artist Village Warli-painting workshop + Pandava Caves (small rock-cut shrines outside town). Hotel Toran Hill Resort or Toran Ambika (near Sunset Point) for the GTDC-anchored stay. Anando Palms Resort for groups, Hotel Patang budget. Day-trip option from Surat (160km, 3.5 hrs) or Nashik (75km, 2 hrs). Hotel rates standard mid-range — Club Mahindra Hatgad Resort (5km on Maharashtra side) for the family deluxe option. February is the heritage walker's third-best Saputara window. The monsoon-peak Jul-Sep is the destination's defining season.
