Peak crowds
January is one of Ozar's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Astavinayak temple draws pilgrims Nov–Feb during cool season; summer monsoon months see minimal traffic.
January at Ozar — the fifth temple in the traditional Ashtavinayak yatra — runs at clean post-festival operational tempo. Vighneshwar (the remover-of-obstacles form of Ganesha) sits on the Kukdi river bank 85km north of Pune via Chakan and Junnar. The murti is sone-Ganesh (gold-leaf coated); the present structure dates to the 1785 renovation commissioned by Chimaji Appa (Peshwa Bajirao I's younger brother) following his Vasai victory over the Portuguese — the original temple had been destroyed in earlier Mughal-era raids. The temple complex sits in the Junnar valley with the Manmodi hills (housing Lenyadri 10km away) on the northern horizon. Daytime 14-28C, nights 8-10C — among the cleanest temple weather of the year. The 85km Pune drive takes 2 hours via Chakan-Manchar-Narayangaon-Junnar. Combine with Lenyadri 10km in the same morning. Sankashti Chaturthi early month brings Tuesday density. Kukdi river at clean post-monsoon flow visible from the temple ghat.
