The Manali-Atal Tunnel-Gramphu-Batal-Kunzum approach takes its first winter snow around October 15-20 and closes for the season typically October 25-30. Chandratal tent camps wind down between October 5-10. Kaza itself stays open year-round (Shimla-Reckong Peo-Kaza road continues to function). Apricot harvest finishing in Tabo. The high-village circuit (Komic, Hikkim, Langza) starts feeling the cold but stays accessible through the month.
