Kadmat Island in November
Lakshadweep, India
Go in November — lagoon conditions are stable for diving and kayaking, permits are processable, and shoulder-season crowds are thinner than December peaks.
Peak crowds
November is one of Kadmat Island's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Island diving and water sports safe October–May with calm seas. Monsoon June–September brings rough waves and dive restrictions.
November on Kadmat is properly back in business. The northeast monsoon hammers the Coromandel coast but largely sidesteps the Lakshadweep chain — rainfall stays under 80mm, the Arabian Sea flattens out, dive visibility at the deeper Bird Reef site holds 28-32m. Air 23-30C, water 27-28C. Kadmat Beach Resort sits at 90 percent occupancy; bookings need to be in 30-45 days ahead. SAMUDRAM cruise from Kochi sells out 30-45 days ahead — bundled-package travelers get permit, transport, and accommodation in a single booking which makes November one of the easier months to enter the chain. The Lacadives dive school operates at full capacity; the four-day open-water course runs continuously. Permit applications for late-November and December dates need to be in 35-45 days early. The 8km lagoon stays flat from 6am to noon. ATM near the jetty processes more cash but still goes dry by Sunday. Carry ₹20,000-25,000.
