Kadmat Island in April
Lakshadweep, India
Go in April—water visibility is excellent and heat is manageable, though humidity is rising and afternoon squalls can interrupt water sports.
Peak crowds
April is one of Kadmat Island's busiest months. The score rates conditions — weather, access, value — not how many people you'll share them with. Island diving and water sports safe October–May with calm seas. Monsoon June–September brings rough waves and dive restrictions.
April in Kadmat is operationally clean but warmer than the comfort zone. Air 28-33C, water 28-29C, humidity at 80 percent — the 8km beach radiates heat from 11am, and the only viable mid-day plan is the lagoon itself. Kadmat Beach Resort rates run 30 percent off January peak; SPORTS huts go to year-low. The Lacadives dive school runs full programme — early-morning two-tank dives become the standard schedule. Power cuts get more frequent pre-monsoon — 2-3 hour daytime outages aren't unusual at the resort, and the budget SPORTS huts without inverters go dark. The SAMUDRAM cruise reduces frequency from mid-month as Kochi-departure loads fall. Inter-island speedboats to Agatti or Kavaratti run on weather-dependent schedules. Permit applications from April for May arrivals get processed faster (15-25 days) as flow drops, but the May window itself becomes the constraint. Lock the first three weeks; the last week starts losing reliability.
