April pushes Fatehpur Sikri to 30-40°C. The red sandstone absorbs and radiates heat, making midday unbearable. Dawn visits (6-9am) are the only comfortable window. The site empties of tourists, leaving ghost-city silence in a ghost city. The irony — a city abandoned possibly due to water scarcity, now too hot for visitors — writes itself.
Fatehpur Sikri में अभी
UP Tourism hotel — basic but the only decent option near Akbar's ghost city. Clean rooms, garden, and restaurant. Most people visit as a day trip from Agra but staying overnight lets you explore without crowds.

सिग्नेचरcheese kofta and kashmiri kofta
Open 8am-9pm. Note the location: 30m east of the bus stand, NOT inside it — there's a separate 'Ajay Restaurant' inside the bus stand that locals warn against. Cold beer available with the rooftop view.

Dine here before catching the afternoon Agra-bound bus — the next clean dining option is 30km back at Sikandra. Open daytime through dinner.

If you're driving onwards to Bharatpur or Jaipur, this is a more practical lunch stop than the in-town Goverdhan option — closer to the bypass.
