February is Junagadh's peak month for the rare double-act — heritage circuit access at 14-30C AND the Bhavnath Mahadev Naga sadhu fair at Girnar's foothills around Maha Shivratri (Sat Feb 14 2026). The fair brings Naga sadhus to camp around the Bhavnath temple for 5 days, with night-time torchlight processions up Girnar that few outside Saurashtra know about.

The Kathiyawadi thali changes daily (lasaniya batata, ringan no olo, sev tameta rotate); ask the server what's on. Buttered bajra rotla is the must-add upgrade in winter. Cash and UPI both work.

Morning (7-10am) for parathas; evening (6-9pm) for thepla. The aloo paratha is the order; paneer is fine but you can get it anywhere. Pair with masala chaas, not lassi (lassi here is sweet by default and overrides the paratha flavour).

Order the chakri specifically — it's the dish that distinguishes Junagadh from Ahmedabad/Vadodara thali. Lunch slot 12-3pm is the move. Banquet hall doubles up as wedding venue — Saturday evenings get loud.

Lunch (12-3pm) is the sharper meal. The puran poli is the regional dish to focus on, not the Punjabi side which is more generic. Dinner gets busy with Gir tourists 7:30-9pm; arrive earlier.
