February in Auroville is the tightest of the cool months. Rainfall averages 8-15mm, daytime 23-31C, the Coromandel coast is at its most stable. Stay inside the community. Multiple guest houses run by Auroville residents. Some include community meals. The only way to truly experience Auroville — day visits are superficial.

Open 9 AM-5 PM only — closes early. Their take-home jam jars (mango ginger, passion fruit) and spelt bread loaves are the best souvenir from Auroville. Cards accepted but slow — keep cash backup.

Open-air seating, no AC — humid in summer, lovely November-February. Two other Tanto branches exist (Visitors Centre courtyard and White Town Pondy) but ECR is the original wood-fired one. Closed Sundays for staff rest.

Pour-over and Aeropress available on request — staff are trained, not improvising. The fermented kombucha and water-kefir bottles in the fridge are made on-site weekly. Avoid weekends 11 AM-1 PM (visitor centre rush).

Long weekend wait — go on weekday mornings 10-11 AM. Signature chocolate toast is the menu lock; everything else is variable. Sourdough loaves on the counter sell out by 2 PM — buy on arrival, eat later.
