If you reach Yusmarg in January, you find a snow meadow at 2,396m, surrounded by pine forest and the Pir Panjal range, with possibly no other human visible. The solitude is total. The beauty is stark. The cold is real (carry serious layers). January Yusmarg is for the traveller who has done Gulmarg in season and wants the opposite: a Kashmir meadow with zero performance.
