Sullivan Memorial (5km, ₹20, 9am-5pm closed Mon) — the 1819 bungalow of John Sullivan, the original Nilgiri European house — at peak monthly footfall but never queued like the Ooty Botanical Garden. Longwood Shola (16km, 116-hectare montane evergreen, Forest Department permit ₹150-300, 7am-4pm) at year-clearest walk visibility.
