The 120 stair climb is grip-perfect in December; Cave 1 Trimurti at 10:30am-11:30am in cool side-light is the year's finest. Walk caves 4-7 on the southeast plateau. The optional toy-train from jetty (₹10) covers the first half of the climb. Canteen on island basic — bring a 500ml water bottle and packed snack. Combine with a Mumbai Fort circuit same afternoon (CSMT, Asiatic Society, Kala Ghoda). Book everything (ferry, restaurants, hotel) 2-3 weeks ahead. Avoid Dec 31 Gateway area entirely — NYE crowds make the ferry queue chaotic.
