June is Ahmedabad at its most uncomfortable — the dry-burn of May softening into pre-monsoon humidity that hangs at 28-40C with rising stickiness. The SW monsoon usually arrives in southern Gujarat by mid-June and reaches Ahmedabad in the last week. Dust storms (andhi) common in the first half of the month.

Tourism near-dormant. Heritage walks unworkable in the humidity. Sabarmati Ashram only at sunrise or sunset. AC museums (Calico, Baroda) are the workable interiors. Hotel rates at their cheapest for the year — Hyatt, House of MG, even Mangaldas Haveli offer 30-40 percent discounts. Late-June pre-monsoon storms make for dramatic Sabarmati riverfront photography between rain breaks. If your trip dates are inflexible: anchor at a hotel with a pool, do AC interiors midday, and time outdoor moments to the brief evening rain breaks. The Lothal day trip is too hot and too humid. Save the deep-walled-city UNESCO circuit for November-February. June is exclusively a hub-stop month for onward travel.
