Tashiding Monastery, founded in 1641 on a heart-shaped hill between the Rathong and Rangeet rivers, is among the holiest Nyingma sites in Sikkim. Its Bhumchu festival (Feb–Mar) centres on a sacred pot of water whose level is read as an omen for the year ahead. Kanchenjunga rises behind the ridge.
