The February story

Watching Losar in Sangla is witnessing a living culture that tourism hasn't yet commodified. The fort and temple wear their deepest snow. The Baspa river sounds different in winter — quieter, more intimate. If you reach the valley (road check essential — call HRTC or local contacts), you'll find maybe 5-10 other visitors in the entire valley. Accommodation is survival-grade but warm. The experience is irreplaceable. February Sangla is India's hidden winter heartland.
