Manali · Himachal Pradesh
Easy trek to the glacial source of the Beas River near Manali.
Kullu · Himachal Pradesh
A short but rewarding trek to one of Himachal's most dramatic temples — Bijli Mahadev — where lightning strikes the Shiva lingam and the priest reassembles it with butter. The panoramic ridge walk offers jaw-dropping views of Kullu, Parvati, and Garsa valleys with the Beas River snaking below.
Spiti Valley · Himachal Pradesh
The crescent-shaped Moon Lake of Spiti sits at 4300m surrounded by stark brown mountains that reflect perfectly in its turquoise waters. While reachable by a short 2km walk from the parking lot, the altitude makes it deceptively challenging. One of the most photogenic high-altitude lakes in India — every angle is a postcard.
Prashar Lake · Himachal Pradesh
A serene alpine lake at 2730m with a floating island and ancient pagoda-style temple dedicated to Sage Prashar. The trail winds through cedar forests with panoramic views of Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges. Perfect weekend trek from Delhi or Chandigarh — doable as a day hike or overnight camp.
Dharamshala · Himachal Pradesh
Most popular day trek in Himachal — 9km return to Dhauladhar ridge.
Trek to a sacred glacial lake at 4300m near Manali.
Shimla · Himachal Pradesh
One of the most thrilling moderate-to-hard crossover treks in Himachal. Buran Ghati involves a steep snow wall rappel at the 4572m pass — a unique experience not found on most Indian treks. The trail traverses from Shimla's green Pabbar valley to the arid Spiti-like landscapes on the other side, passing through forests, meadows, glacial lakes, and finally the dramatic pass.
An ancient trade route connecting Kullu to Malana — the famously isolated village with its own parliament and laws. The pass at 3660m offers stunning views of Parvati valley, Deo Tibba, and Indrasan peaks. The descent to Malana village adds a fascinating cultural dimension — one of the most unique communities in the Himalayas with strict touch-me-not customs.
Cross from green Kullu to barren Lahaul in 4 days. Classic intro to Himalayan trekking.
The crown jewel beyond Triund — Indrahar Pass at 4342m is the gateway from Kangra valley to Chamba. Standing at the pass, you see the lush green Kangra valley on one side and the stark, dramatic Chamba landscape on the other. The climb from Triund involves steep snow sections and requires good fitness, but the reward is one of the most dramatic pass crossings in Himachal.
Kasol · Himachal Pradesh
Trek to natural hot springs at 2960m in Parvati Valley.
A lesser-known extension beyond Triund that takes you into the raw Dhauladhar range. Laka Glacier sits in a dramatic amphitheater of rock and ice at 3200m, with massive boulders, moraines, and a seasonal glacial lake. Far fewer trekkers make it here compared to Triund, giving it a wild, remote feel just hours from McLeodganj.
Cross the Sar Pass from Parvati Valley with snow corridors and pine forests.
A demanding high-altitude crossover connecting Pin Valley in Spiti to Kullu via the Kangla Pass at 5500m. The trek traverses the Pin Valley National Park — home to snow leopards and ibex — before climbing to a dramatic pass with views of the Great Himalayan Range. The descent into Kullu valley is steep and wild. A genuine wilderness adventure for experienced high-altitude trekkers.
Kinnaur · Himachal Pradesh
One of the most challenging and remote crossover treks in the Indian Himalayas — connecting Kinnaur (Chitkul) to Garhwal (Harsil) across the fearsome Lamkhaga Pass at 5282m. This is wilderness trekking at its rawest — no villages, no trails in sections, glacier crossings, steep moraines, and days of complete isolation. Only for experienced trekkers with high-altitude exposure. The reward is an untouched landscape few humans ever see.
An ancient trade route connecting Spiti to Ladakh across one of the highest trekkable passes in India at 5580m. Parang La is remote, wild, and unforgiving — crossing vast glaciers, fording icy rivers, and navigating terrain that sees almost no other trekkers. The landscape shifts from Spiti's arid moonscape to Ladakh's stark beauty. This is expedition-grade trekking for those who want to go where almost nobody else does.
Cross from Parvati Valley to Spiti over 5319m pass. India classic high-altitude crossing.
Cross from Shimla side to Kinnaur via 4650m pass with hanging glacier waterfall.
