The Portuguese-coast union territory (since 2020 merged as Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu). Silvassa was the Portuguese capital of Dadra and Nagar Haveli; Daman holds the Moti Daman fort (16th-century Portuguese) and Devka beach; Diu is the island fortress at the southern tip of Saurashtra, with Nagoa beach and the Diu Fort still complete. Portuguese rule (1535–1961) makes the architecture and Catholic-feast calendar distinct from the surrounding Gujarat–Maharashtra region. 3 destinations across the territory.
