February is the most comfortable month for covering all of Ujjain's temples. The Shipra River is calm, the ghats uncrowded, and Mahakaleshwar queues are manageable.

Donation queue runs parallel to the entry queue. Strict pure-veg, no leather inside.

6:30-10am only — by 10:30 most stalls have packed up. Cash only, ₹40-60 a plate. The Freeganj circle two blocks away has the upscale family-restaurant options if street-stall hygiene is a concern. Stand-and-eat from a paper plate is the format.

Order Malwa ki Mehak (₹350-400 range) for first-time visitors — it's the curated regional plate that covers the food vocabulary of Ujjain in one tray. Skip butter khichdi if you've eaten heavy bhog earlier in the day. Open 9am-10:30pm, queue picks up post-aarti 9pm onwards.
